How to declare your turnover to URSSAF

As a micro-entrepreneur, you declare your turnover (« chiffre d'affaires ») to URSSAF every month or every quarter, online, and you pay your social contributions at the same time. It takes a few minutes. This guide explains the deadlines, what to declare and the mistakes that cost money.

In short

  • You declare online on autoentrepreneur.urssaf.fr, every month or every quarter.
  • You declare the money you actually received during the period, not what you invoiced.
  • No turnover? Declare 0: it costs nothing, while a missing declaration costs a €60.10 penalty.
  • Some platforms, Uber Eats among them, now declare and pay your contributions for you.
  • Contributions are a percentage of your turnover: 12.3%, 21.2% or 25.6% in 2026 for most activities.

Monthly or quarterly: the deadlines

You chose a rhythm when you registered (« Mensuel » or « Trimestriel » in our form). The deadlines are:

  • Monthly: declare each month's turnover by the last day of the following month (January's turnover by the end of February).
  • Quarterly: January to March by 30 April, April to June by 31 July, July to September by 31 October, October to December by 31 January of the following year.
  • Your first declaration comes after your first 90 days of activity and can cover several months at once. Your online space shows the exact date.
  • You can change rhythm for the next calendar year: ask URSSAF before 31 October of the current year.

What to declare

  • The money you actually received during the period (« chiffre d'affaires encaissé »): bank transfers, card payments, cash and platform payouts. Unpaid invoices wait until they are paid.
  • Tips are part of your turnover.
  • If you have two kinds of activity, for example sales and services, declare each amount on its own line: they have different rates.
  • If you charge VAT, declare your turnover excluding VAT.

Platforms that declare for you

Since 1 October 2026, as a test, a few platforms (Uber Eats, Wecasa, Les Sherpas, Extracadabra, Mon Spécialiste Auto, Student Pop and Truckrs) declare your turnover to URSSAF and pay your contributions for you, out of what they pay you. From 1 January 2027, this becomes compulsory for these platforms.

For the turnover from these platforms, you then stop declaring it yourself, but you still declare everything you earn outside them. You can check what the platform declared in your online space.

How to declare, step by step

  1. Log in to your online space on autoentrepreneur.urssaf.fr.
  2. Open the section for declaring and paying (« Déclarer et payer » at the time of writing) and choose the period.
  3. Enter the turnover received for each type of activity, or 0.
  4. Check the contributions, which are calculated for you, then confirm and pay.
  5. Keep the confirmation.

How much you pay in 2026

  • Sale of goods (BIC): 12.3% of turnover.
  • Commercial or craft services (BIC), for example delivery, cleaning or building work: 21.2%.
  • Liberal professions (BNC), for example consulting, IT or private tutoring: 25.6% (23.2% for the professions affiliated to CIPAV).
  • On top: the training contribution (CFP) of 0.1% for sales, 0.2% for services and 0.3% for craftspeople.
  • If you chose the « versement libératoire », your income tax is added: 1%, 1.7% or 2.2% of turnover.

Example: €2,000 of delivery turnover in a month means €424 of contributions (21.2%) plus €4 of training contribution (0.2%), so €428. With the ACRE reduction for a business started since 1 July 2026, the rate is 15.9%: €318 plus €4, so €322. Traders also pay a small chamber fee with their contributions (€0.88 here).

No turnover? Declare 0

You must declare at every deadline, even when you received nothing. Enter 0: you pay nothing. Each missing declaration costs a penalty of €60.10 in 2026, and URSSAF can then calculate your contributions on a flat-rate estimate of your turnover, with a surcharge, until you declare.

If you declare no turnover at all for 24 months (8 quarters) in a row, URSSAF writes to ask whether you have stopped. If you do not reply that you want to continue, your micro-enterprise is closed automatically (« radiée d'office »). If you have stopped working for good, close it yourself.

Mistakes that cost money

  • Declaring what you invoiced instead of what you received.
  • Forgetting a zero declaration.
  • Declaring yourself the turnover that a platform already declares for you.
  • Putting sales and services on the same line.
  • Waiting for the last day, when the website can be slow.

Frequently asked questions

Do I also declare my turnover for income tax?

Yes, once a year, on your income tax return, on form 2042-C-PRO: boxes 5KO, 5KP or 5HQ without the versement libératoire, 5TA, 5TB or 5TE with it. Report the gross turnover you received.

I made a mistake in a declaration. What can I do?

Until the deadline, you can change your declaration yourself in your online space. After that, write to URSSAF from the messaging service of your online space to have it corrected. A small mistake corrected quickly does not necessarily lead to a penalty.

Do I charge VAT?

Not while your turnover stays under the VAT exemption thresholds (« franchise en base de TVA »). Your invoices must then say « TVA non applicable, art. 293 B du CGI ». Our guide to costs explains the thresholds.
